It is not a joyful moment when you realize that you are going to a drug and alcohol rehab center. One thing is though, that when you leave the rehab center free of addiction, you will be a much happier person knowing you defeated the drug addiction. There are a lot of reasons a person is addicted to drugs. Some people got injured or had surgery and were given opioid based drugs like methadone, oxycodone, oxycontin, or other addicting prescription drugs. Others are people who made the choice of trying drugs for the purpose of feeling a high and ended up becoming addicted to the drug. A lot of people enter into a drug treatment center so that they can relieve themselves of the grip that the drug they are using has on them.
Going into a drug rehab center is very beneficial for someone because they are given 24 hour assistance. They also have the help of professionals that can guide them on what they will be experiencing when they are going through the drug detox. One thing that they focus on at a rehab center is that they are trying to make your detox the least painful and miserable as possible. Withdrawals from drugs can be very strong and they are not easy to cope with. Some people can be in the process of breaking an addiction for 6 months or more. Some cases do not take as much time, but it varies based on the drug, the amount of time used, and how the person’s body reacts.

Those who are chronic drinkers have conditioned their bodies to become used to heavy drinking. They have become dependent upon the use of alcohol have an uncontrollable desire to drink. When one reaches this level of alcoholism, he or she will most likely experience the symptoms of withdrawal within three to eight hours after taking their last drink. When one is at this level, these symptoms make it difficult for the person to stop drinking, even if he desperately wants to.

My uncle recently was admitted to a hospital because he hit rock bottom. He has been an alcoholic since a teenager and it finally took a turn for the worst. Last week he couldn’t drink due to some medication he had to be taking, and the 3 days without any alcohol seemed to mess with his mind. He started hallucinating and was not able to be alone. His health has been in constant deterioration for the past few years and now family is kinda of at a stand still. He was admitted to the local hospital to help him through the initial detox and now it’s been 3 days and we are looking to find the next step. My uncle doesn’t have any health insurance and has yet to “snap out of it” for lack of a better word. He is still in the hospital for health reasons, but will probably be released within the next few days and we need some directions for the next step. Obviously he needs treatment but we just need to know where to look and find somewhere that will treat him without insurance.
Thanks!

Unhealthy eating habits, the pollution in the environment inevitably leads to the accumulation of toxins in the human body, and if these toxins are not cleansed out once in a while. The process of ridding your body of these poisonous substances is known as detoxification. Instead of opting for body detoxes and clinics and spas it is often more economical to get a home body detox, that is getting your body detoxified at home. A home body detox has several advantages vis a vis a professional detox at a spa. First, a home body detox is much cheaper compared to a detox at a spa, which may often cost up to many thousands of dollars. Secondly, in terms of quality or effectiveness it is not really less in terms of effectiveness than a detox at a spa, plus, a home body detox allows you to get your body cleansed and minus the discipline you are forced to follow at a spa or a clinic. So you can enjoy a freer and relaxed session of detox at home.

Addiction is the most common word in today’s world. It can be defined as that condition when a person is unable to stop using something. That something can be movies, music, shopping, cigarettes, alcohol or drugs. The last two are the most common and deadly form of addiction. Thousands of people die every year due to the intake of these two things. Drug addiction is the most common form and it is deadlier than alcohol. Lethal drugs like Cocaine, Heroine, LSD, Marijuana, Hashish etc are found all over the world and they are cause of millions of deaths. Government of every country is trying to uproot these addiction and the drugs. Some of them have already succeeded.
Although drugs have been banned in several countries, the addiction did not leave the youth. Unable to obtain their required drugs, people have changed their mode of addiction. They have now started taking painkillers for getting high. Painkiller addiction is now the most common form of addiction of the world. It is cheap and easily available. Govt. cannot even put a ban on painkillers as it is mainly used as medicine. Although, addiction to painkillers is intentional for some people, some even get addicted after they are being prescribed with painkillers by the doctors or physicists.

I am beginning to wonder if I am an alcoholic. I drink four to five mixed drinks at night, usually after work, usually between 11-2. .. then I go to bed and do it all again the next night.. but this is every night … I don’t really crave this alcohol, I only know that without it I will have a great difficulty sleeping… then the other night I went to bed after two glasses of wine, passed out for three hours, woke up to go to the bathroom, then laid in bed hallucinating and falling in and out of bad dreams for hours .. I couldn’t tell my dreams from reality and was hearing voices while awake… does this mean DTs? This is the first time this has happened to me … but I have been drinking like that for close to 2 years .. I am very young and certainly don’t wake up in the morning craving alcohol or anything … is there anything I can do to avoid detox? Is there any hope of a safe at home detox?? My job is very prolific in the community and I could not handle entering a detox center (or afford it) … I think for the time being I am going to try a weaning method, I am just scared of having a seizure? Does that seem likely for someone like me, that drinks as I do?? I need help. I wonder if it would be too risky to just up and try to stop drinking for a couple of days, given my current conditions. I experience no side effects the 21 hours a day I don’t drink, so maybe I am not past the limit yet? Before involving medicine I wish I could just try out a couple of days not drinking but I am not sure if that would be too risky.
All I want is to stop!!
Tonight!!
