What is Alcohol Detox Like?

I am going to be starting an ambulatory detox program soon and am wondering if any one who has done the same can tell me what to expect.

would drinking it straight like from the bottle … be a good detox?? like say i drink half a cup..

i just feel like i have been very unhealthy lately like with alcohol and junk food and i want to cleanse my system out. any ideas?

For the past few months, I noticed that my son always went home late. I would usually wake up in the middle of the night to check on him, only to find out that he was not on his bed yet. Before I’d go to the office, I’d also go to his room to say goodbye but he would still be asleep. Since I was frequently busy, I hardly find time to talk to him. Just recently, I’ve learned that he is has become addicted to alcohol. My son is just 16 years old, I need to bring him to the rehab.

what to expect befor going alcohol detox?

How do I deal with seeing someone die?

So, I work in an emergency room and last night i witnessed a death of a guy around my age. I literally saw him die right in front of my eyes, heard his last words (“I can’t breathe”) and saw him take his last breath. I am having a hard time dealing with it and had a mini anxiety attack as i pulled up to the hospital tonight to work. Now you have to understand my title is a patient sitter. I generally just sit with psychiatry patients as well as alcohol or drug detox’s. I was helping a nurse as i often do when I don’t have patients to sit for. So now I don’t know what to do, I am in shambles.. can anyone help me?

I know of a friend who has been suffering from chronic alcoholism for quite some time. I opened up the idea of treatment to him and he found the idea very welcoming and asked me to ask around for an alcohol rehab nearby.
