Detoxing.. Any advice for a serious junk food eater ?
Question by : Detoxing.. Any advice for a serious junk food eater ?
Im a 23 year old female and as far as i know, im in good health. However, for the last 4 years (my student days) my diet has been horrendous. I have eaten nothing but microwave meals & takeaways and consumed large amounts of alcohol. I am not overweight, as i have counteracted my fatty diet with plenty of exercise. My BMI is 22%.
However, i have now finished university and want to start afresh with regards to looking after my body. I intend to detoxify as well as possible before starting to eat healthily. Basically, i want a clean slate.
I have read about detox methods and from the reviews i have seen, the ‘master cleanse’ fasting technique seems to be the most effective. However, i am aware that the information i have read may be fabricated, which is why i am asking about it here.
I am looking for any advice from people that have tried the master cleanse, or any other detox technique. I’d like to know easy/hard you found it, how you felt after completing it, what effects it had on you, etc.
Thanks
@ Darin – let me rephrase, i meant i am not on medication for anything and have no health complaints.

If that has been your diet, I seriously doubt that you are really in good health.
Microwave meals are full of cholesterol and salt.
Obviously alcohol is very bad for you and full of fatty calories.
Alcohol….there is a reason it is called and in-toxic-ant.
You may have stayed slim but you are not healthy…………..>

i’ve taken the 14 day detox cleanser pills. it makes you eliminate wastes from your body that has been stuck in your colon for years. it’s a good thing to do every couple months
you need to eat at least 4 meals a day, with some source of fat for each meal
Breakfast:
walnuts (Omega 3 fatty acids for source of fat)
avocado(unsaturated fat, saturated fat for source of fat)
lemon(detoxifier and energizer)
cranberries(detoxifier and energizer)
Lunch:
Liver(Fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, K for sources of fat)
kale leaves (healers)
swiss chard leaves(healers)
dandelion leaves(healers and detoxifiers)
Dinner:
cod (Omega 3 fatty acids for source of fat)
2 apples (detoxifier and energizer)
hazelnuts(unsaturated fat, saturated fat for source of fat)
more green leaf salad(healers)
