A few days ago, she came out of her room rambling about calling an ambulance and seeing a doctor and called everyone asked if they could drive her to detox – she was acting very drunk and childlike. When she was there, bloodtests were done, and zero alcohol was found in her bloodstream. Now, even though she’s back, she still seems a little “out of it” and off.

I recently got a dui in Denver, Colorado. I go to court in about 3 and a half weeks. I understand that I will have to pay fines, lose my license, do community service and take alcohol classes. I’m prepared for all this, but I’m mostly nervous about the mandatory 5 days to a year in jail. I’ve had a clean record prior to this. I willingly took a breathalyzer and blew a .144. I was sent to detox for 5 hours. I am currently collecting unemployment benefits and looking for a job like crazy! I’m don’t know if doing jail time will end my ui benefits or just interrupt it. Either way, I will lose my apartment, my car, my dog and I’ll have nowhere to go. I have started my alcohol classes early. Is it possible that the judge will wave the jail time so I don’t interrupt my classes or my job search? Basically, I’ve read that when the law says “mandatory jail time” it is still up to the judge to decide whether to give it to me. I’ve also read that a BAC of .2 and over is when they really start enforcing the jail time. Is this true? I’ve also heard conflicting stories about whether a lawyer will really be able to help me or not. Not that I could afford one anyway.
For what it’s worth, I left my car at the bar and started to walk home when I ran into a friend who was too drunk to walk straight let alone move his car and it would definitely get towed in the morning. Trying to be a helpful friend, I foolishly agreed to move his car for him and got pulled over for not using a turn signal. The cop who did my finger prints said he wouldn’t have thought i’d blow that high from just talking to me. Still, it was a stupid decision and I’m ashamed and sincerely sorry.
I don’t need the law quoted to me, I need advise from someone who has been thru something similar. Maybe someone with recent experience because the law changed on July 1st. Thank you….
So it’s clear, I absolutely am not making excuses for what I did, and I will completely own up to it to the judge and do what I have to do. I only added the details of my arrest to clarify that I did not get in an accident, kill someone, resisted arrest, etc, because I would surely recieve different answers if that had been the case…

My dad already quit alcohol years ago, so it really surprised me that he started again now. I just learned this when he called me up on the phone in the middle of the night and he really sounded drunk. He admitted that he was, and this really scares me. I guess this is because he has recently learned that my mom, whom he divorced years ago, has already found another guy to marry. I feel sad for my dad, and I really would do whatever I can to get him treated in an alcohol rehab. I don’t know how to find one for him, though, as I’m far from his place.

-Go on a home detox diet. This means eating lots of fruits and leafy greens. Make them organic when possible.
-Avoid junk food, diet soda, processed food and saturated fats such as butter and animal fats.
-Avoid toxins like excessive alcohol and cigarettes.
-Drink a lot of water to hydrate your body and flush out toxins. Eight to ten glasses a day are recommended.
-Brush your skin daily, preferably before bathing. The best is a Tampico Skin Brush (compare prices) made with natural agave plant fiber.
-Maintain your healthiest weight. ( i am 5’3, fourteen, 115-low 120′svery slim)
-Finish your daily shower with a cold rinse to tone your skin. (i do)
should i do that or just not worry at all?

I also know her daughter and it really pains my heart to know that this is happening to their family.
