My dad lives in Port Jervis, New York and I need to help him find an alcohol rehab there. How?
My dad already quit alcohol years ago, so it really surprised me that he started again now. I just learned this when he called me up on the phone in the middle of the night and he really sounded drunk. He admitted that he was, and this really scares me. I guess this is because he has recently learned that my mom, whom he divorced years ago, has already found another guy to marry. I feel sad for my dad, and I really would do whatever I can to get him treated in an alcohol rehab. I don’t know how to find one for him, though, as I’m far from his place.

Oh, that’s so sad. Your dad must have been really devastated to hear that your mom’s marrying someone else. But then again, their marriage was over years ago…
As for the alcohol rehabs, I’m pretty sure that the links below will be able to help you. These links contain lists of the alcohol rehabs near your father’s place. You can also call this number: 800-559-9503. It’s a helpline wherein you can ask them questions regarding alcohol addiction and they can also give you recommendations regarding alcohol rehabs. It’s a good thing that you’re there for your dad even though he’s far away.
What you could do is call information and get the phone number for the Chamber Of Commerce in the town where your dad lives. They would be able to recommend something, or at least get you pointed in the right direction. Or, you could make your dad take some responsibility for his own actions and have him go there himself. He could also look up in the yellow pages places that offer outpatient drug & alcohol treatment. Try to supply your dad with as many “tools” that he may need for recovery. Once he has the tools and knows what he’s got to do, its up to him to do the work.
