There are different levels on which one may indulge in drinking alcohol. A person who ingest alcohol can be a social drinker, which refers that there is only rare drinking. Other than that, there is heavy drinking, problem drinking, and dependence drinking.

Whereas heavy drinking is harmful, problem drinking is somewhat dangerous and in dependence drinking, alcohol becomes the utmost priority. At the level of social drinking, alcohol is not much injurious unless you are driving or are on medication or working. The main thing when it comes to reduction of alcohol intake is to accept that you have a problem and realizing to yourself that you need help.

Basically Drug and alcohol detox is to stop drinking and the withdrawal effects of stopping drinking. Depending on the level of abuse, the Alcohol detoxification withdrawal effects can be very traumatic for the alcoholic. The alcohol detox therapist will play a major role in both the alcohol detox and the subsequent remedial treatment that will follow. Some of these therapists are going to have a better effect than others. The patient needs a good therapist to have a good understanding of the patient’s needs and problems. They will also have the traits of empathy and support. The ability to use outside resources to help the patient as much as possible and to keep the patient very much goal orientated is another sign of a good therapist.

Unfortunately, because money is tight and therapists are in short supply, often we have to take the good with the bad. A bad Alcohol detoxification therapist will be very intrusive and controlling, they will not listen to the patient and will point the finger of blame squarely at the patient’s own doorstep without being empathetic at all to the patient’s circumstances. They will also be psychologically distant and will not confront any issues which they are finding it to be difficult subjects to cover.

The detox process relies on the enslavement of the sufferer upon alcohol. The patient’s body becomes used to alcohol consumption and a sudden restraint can cause a number of physical problems. The patient can experience from nausea, shakes, high blood pressure, convulsions and headaches. A patient can also become violent and injure his self or others. That is why it is strongly advised that alcohols detox being done under proper medical management.

My boyfriend is looking into detox centers in Wisconsin. He has a drinking problem and its now causing bad anxiety. Anyways… we’re wondering how much they generally cost and what the procedure is? I tried calling a few places but haven’t recieved a call back yet. Any information would be helpful, we basically know nothing about this but we know he needs help.

You should consider going on alcohol detox if you are having any of those with alcohol. What does alcohol detox actually mean? Alcohol detox is the withdrawal process and lasts between when you take your last drink and when you are no longer getting the symptoms of withdrawal. First of all you have to ask yourself if you have an alcohol problem? Here are some questions that you should really ask yourself. Do you drink a lot faster than your friends? Do you take a drink to feel better? Do you drink without other people’s company? Are you increasing the level of your alcohol consumption? When you have been drinking have you ever had memory loss? Do you ever take a drink in the morning to relieve the effects of a hangover? Is your level of drinking causing concern to your family and friends?

If you are finding that the answer is yes to three or more of these questions you must sit down and really think about doing alcohol detox. Your local family doctor should be contacted at this stage. They will be able to point you in the best direction for the best treatment for you if you are truthful with them. You must explain everything about your drinking habits. Under no circumstances should you alcohol drug detox before you have consulted your physician.
