He’s 19 or 20 and has a clean record but when he was 17 he was in a mental hospital for a 72 hour surveillance. He was never involuntarily committed or committed. Pedro the Lion is loud in the speakers, and the city waits just outside our open windows. She sits and sings, legs crossed in the passenger seat, her pretty voice hiding in the volume. Music is a safe place and Pedro is her favorite. It hits me that she won’t see this skyline for several weeks, and we will be without her. I lean forward, knowing this will be written, and I ask what she’d say if her story had an audience. She smiles. “Tell them to look up. Tell them to remember the stars.”

I would rather write her a song, because songs don’t wait to resolve, and because songs mean so much to her. Stories wait for endings, but songs are brave things bold enough to sing when all they know is darkness. These words, like most words, will be written next to midnight, between hurricane and harbor, as both claim to save her.

i have an alcohol problem and i want to get better 100% the thing is im almost out of money..im broke..i have bad withdrawl symptoms..really bad..and i wanna go to the hosptial to take care of them..sadly i need too…and then u know go AA and get thro all of this..but its not that easy…I may not be able to afford the medical care that is needed for my withdrawl..and without it its not safe..i could die..thats really scary..i know i can handle everything after the withdrawal..i plan to go to AA n do w.e it takes…my mind is set. i want to get better..i dont need to hear that i need rehab or w.e i just cant afford it…so please someone give me some hope or an idea that can help me get thro the detox part cuz i can handle the rest n cuz i wanna get better…i cant handle my life this way n e more.i wanna change…but sadly withdrawal can be serious and i dont know what to do…i need help but wat if i cant afford it…i dont want to keep drinkn to be ok..please help me!! if u can

This is in Tennessee.
My girlfriend works at a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility. they are requiring her to work a 24-hour shift. can they do that?
Also – the facility is requiring the residential techs (my gf’s job) to give out medication too. there are people there detoxing and must take valium and other narcotics. she is not a nurse. and the techs are not trained to understand medication. they have nurses there who are no longer giving the meds, for whatever reason. the nurses leave all the time for hours leaving the techs to make medical descisions.
What can she do? is this illegal?
it isnt the nurses telling the techs to give meds, its the director of the facility.

I recently was in DETOX and the doctor took me off Klonopin (for panic attacks – one of the reasons I drank) and alcohol. Then he put me on Luvox, 50 mg., at bedtime. I am having really bad headaches and wonder if the Luvox is to blame. Also, why am I taking that, as my internet research has shown that it is diagnosed for people who have OCD.

We tried once before, and failed. I got clean through N.A. She wont go. She has stopped Meth for 68 days and now wants off alcohol. She weights 98 lbs and drinks more than any1 person i know, so the detox is going to tough. Are thier medications her doc can give her to help? Foods? Liquids? HELP!!!
